Day: 7
Weight: 11.30kg
Tayden has dropped 240gm since yesterday but this is to be expected as he had his last feed last night and didn't eat all that much yesterday although he did nibble on food all day.
He has managed well today without his feeds, today being the first day that we are totally without tube feeds. He has had about 200ml Pediasure to drink today and although l would have liked it to be more, it will do as he learns to eat and drink when he is thirsty. At this point all we can do is have the options open to him and let him decide when and if he wants something.
It has been raining all day today with the max temp apparently being 6'C, so we have stayed indoors, exploring the hospital, chatting to the other parents in the tv lounge and even having an inprompto play picnic with Niklaas and Leoni! You will be surprised at how many play areas there actually are within the hospital, we found a really nice one this morning on the ground floor with a wooden train, slide and wendy house. Tayden had a ball and managed to get rid of some excess energy as he ran up and down the hospital corridors.
Also on the agenda today was the washing and, unlike last time, we didn't manage to colour the whites blue or shrink anything (it's tough working a german washing machine man!) so we are happy about that!
Tayden hasn't had much to eat today and as l mentioned had only 200ml Pediasure - but it is 200ml more than he had last week this time so we are not complaining! Tomorrow our sessions start again after a quiet weekend and it will be nice to catch up with the other kids that are outpatients and see how they have managed the weekend.
