Weight: 13.6kg
Favourite Foods: Pringles (don't think that will ever change!, frozen peas, Rooibos tea black, rice with lots of gravy)
Tayden has had a rough time of late, contracting viral pneumonia and then having one upper respiratory infection after another in the past couple of weeks. But (touch wood!) it seems that we are heading into some healthier times and we are soooo happy about that!
Tay is doing very well at school and his teacher says he is settling in well and even stepping forward to be chosen in some activities, interacting well with other children and enjoying the art activities.
The speech therapy is still a challenge and I admit that if I am not with him and he walks into a room and comments on something, I am not always sure what on earth he is referring to. However, the speech therapist reckons he is making progress so that is great news.
My mom waits for him while he does his OT and speech therapy and she says that by the sounds of things he is having a total ball at OT, screaming with delight at racing down the bigger slide now and he is becoming much more confident - how great for him!
We have made major progress in the last week, and for this I must say thanks to my friend Lynne for her contacts...Tayden's curls are really gorgeous but when you get asked in the shop how old your little girl is (and daddy is with you and not impressed!) then you know you have a problem. But due to TAy's sensory issues, having anyone even touch his hair causes issues so it was with much trepidation that I called Anetjie from Hair by Anetjie to have his hair cut. What a success! What a lovely lady and there wasnt even a squeak of protest from Tayden! Now we have our little boy again! Granted, he looks like he is part of the military with his hair cut but rather too short than being mistaken for a girl!
During a recent consultation with our new paed here in PE, he commented that he is not happy with Tayden's height at all and wants us to consult with a dietician again as he is concerned that even though Tay is eating well, he still isn't getting in enough kj to be growing. Tayden will be 4 in September but as yet isnt even 95cm tall, with the average height being close to 104cm - so he is a tiny tot. So, we are off to a dietician again and will keep you updated. :-)
Thanks for reading, and have a great weekend!
